Less reconstruction. More orientation.

The intended advantages are practical: a better starting point after an interruption, clearer tool choices, and a handoff someone else can inspect.

Return with a specific next action

A useful checkpoint does not need to recreate an entire conversation. It can say which test remains unresolved, which branch holds the change, and where to look next. Dopemux’s manual snapshot captures a note alongside Git state and recent-file hints.

The intended benefit is less reliance on recall when starting again. The mechanism is concrete and limited: this snapshot path does not reopen exact editor state or automatically preserve a complete mental model.

See the saved-context mechanism and example.

Make tool selection a project decision

When every session begins with manual tool configuration, it is difficult to explain why one task sees a different set from another. Profiles turn selection into inspectable configuration: list, show, validate, then apply.

This is designed to reduce repeated setup work and keep tool exposure closer to the job. It is not a claim of faster inference or universal tool access. Configuration validation and live tool health are separate checks.

Explore focused tool profiles.

Keep one change out of another change’s files

A second task can deserve its own branch and working directory. Instance/worktree selection makes that choice explicit before another session starts. You can inspect the existing directories and choose where the next change belongs.

The intended benefit is easier-to-inspect local branch separation. Shared providers, databases, event transport, and credentials still need separate controls; a worktree is not a full service-isolation boundary.

Understand workspaces and their limits.

Leave a history that helps the next person

A handoff becomes easier to evaluate when a note, decision, and execution result have clear roles. Tagged capture notes preserve project-linked breadcrumbs; structured decisions retain rationale; the chronicle records historical work.

This makes it possible to ask better follow-up questions: what was the decision, what was attempted, and what remains unverified? A stored note does not prove delivery, completion, or acceptance. Those still require their own evidence.

Follow an explicit handoff.

Narrow setup trouble before changing the setup

Configured route inspection, offline routing diagnostics, and detailed service-health reports expose different parts of the environment. Using them deliberately can help separate a policy block, missing dependency, and provider question.

That is an intended troubleshooting advantage, not an uptime promise. Offline metadata cannot establish live provider admission. Repair and cleanup flags have side effects and should follow diagnosis rather than being hidden inside an initial check.

See the diagnostic workflow.

What is not measured here

These benefits are intended outcomes inferred from inspected mechanisms. This site has no measured productivity gains, latency benchmarks, token-cost savings, clinical-effectiveness evidence, or full-stack reliability result to report.

Use the detailed pages to decide which mechanism is worth evaluating in your own environment. The alpha status and source limitations remain part of that decision.

Source evidence

Inspected source at the pinned reference revision. Source presence does not establish runtime health.
